Biography

Greetings! I am Reverend Amy Moses-Lagos and I am a lifelong Unitarian Universalist. My childhood was shaped by my experience growing up in a small intergenerational Unitarian Universalist fellowship in Springfield, Illinois. Prior to entering seminary I worked as a paralegal in immigration law, in Harlingen, Texas and later in San Francisco. I received my Masters of Divinity degree from Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley, California in May 2011. I completed my ministerial internship at the Mt. Diablo UU Church in Walnut Creek, California, and also served for one year as the Family Minister at the UU Church of Berkeley. I was honored to be ordained by the First UU Society of San Francisco in March of 2014.

In 2014 I moved from San Francisco to Seattle with my husband Ricardo and son Carlos. We decided to move to be closer to my immediate family members. I served as the quarter-time minister at Free Church Unitarian in Blaine, Washington from 2016 to 2021. I have served as the distance minister for Buckman Bridge Unitarian Universalist Church in Jacksonville, Florida since September 2020. I am actively involved in the Parent Teacher Association at my son’s school, advocating for equity diversity and inclusion in Seattle schools.

In the winter I love to go skiing, and in the summer I love to go rock climbing. I also enjoy keeping up with the latest books, TV and movies. Some of my favorite authors are Gillian Flynn, Jane Harper and Ruth Ware. Recently I have enjoyed the TV shows “The Golden Age,” “The Drop Out” and “Inventing Anna.” I also love to explore the many beautiful parks of Seattle with my son.
